Stellenbosch Wine Tasting Tour Overview:
Your guide will provide commentary about the areas en-route and the day begins with a scenic drive to our first destination of Zewenwacht Wine Estate which is on the Stellenbosch Wine Route. Using “Friesland” milk, this wine estate makes delicious, traditional, farmhouse cheddar cheese. For your wine tasting experience, you will be provided with a variety of four different cheddar cheeses along with their complimentary wines. The wines of the Zewenwacht Estate are renowned by their superbly crafted refinement and timeless style. The winemaker at Zewenwacht, while respecting winemaking traditions, is boldly inventive and embraces the influences that modern equipment makes to the enhancement of exceptional wines.
Our next tasting destination takes us in the direction of Franschhoek wine district to the La Motte Wine Estate (Not open on Sundays). This wine estate has acquired many esteemed awards over the years for their exceptional wines and their wine tasting interior has been celebrated for the welcoming atmosphere it creates for the wine lovers who visit there. La Motte’s collection of wines have been created to convey unique varietal character, and blending the finest of what farms positioned in varied climatic areas have to contribute, as well as the restricted superior La Motte Peirneef range, comprising of varietal wines and inventive fusions.
The last wine estate we visit is the Fairview Wine Estate which is definitely a crowd favourite. This is a special stop on the wine and cheese tasting tour as it is the only wine farm to offer goats cheese. The most famous landmark of the Fairview Wine Estate is undoubtable the Goat Tower. Fairview Wine Estate has a herd of over 750 goats and looking after them is a big part of the daily life on the farm. These goats roam freely and you should be prepared as these goats are known to be quite cheeky. Your guided tour at Fairview is a very relaxed experience where you will experience all the products produced on the farm.
