Our first major destination is Stellenbosch, South Africa's second-oldest town and one of the country's most important wine-producing regions.

The landscape surrounding Stellenbosch is filled with vineyards framed by the Simonsberg, Stellenbosch and Helderberg mountain ranges, creating some of the most recognizable scenery in the Cape.

The route also takes us past the historic Drakenstein Prison, formerly known as Victor Verster Prison.

This location occupies an important place in modern South African history. Nelson Mandela spent the final period of his imprisonment here before walking through the prison gates as a free man on 11 February 1990.
