Choosing the right Safari Tour time

There are several different times the 4x4 Safari vehicle departs, so it's important to do your research and choose what works best for you. This tour that includes transportation to and from your hotel, as well as a knowledgeable guide who can provide information on route about the wildlife you'll see through the day and along the way to the Game Reserve we use.

Best Time to Visit

The best time to visit Cape Town for a safari experience is during the dry season, which runs from September to May, however, Cape Town's climate is so good it really does not matter to much and this is an all year round experience.

What to Bring

Be sure to bring a camera to capture all the amazing wildlife you'll see on your Cape Town Big 5 Safari. You'll also want to bring sunscreen, a hat, and plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day. It's a good idea to wear comfortable, lightweight clothing and closed-toe shoes for walking safaris.

Your Cape Town Big 5 Safari Experience

Once you've chosen a tour and arrived at the safari site, it's time to begin your adventure! Here's what you can expect on your Cape Town Big 5 Safari:

Most Cape Town Big 5 Safari tours begin with a morning game drive, when the animals are most active. You'll climb into an open-air vehicle and set off into the wilderness, keeping your eyes peeled for signs of wildlife.

Wildlife Sightings

As you drive through the private game reserve, your guide will help you spot animals and provide information about their behavior and habitat. You may see lions lounging in the sun, elephants drinking from watering holes, or buffalo grazing in the grasslands.

Cape Town Big 5 4x4 Safari Overview:

Your guide will collect you at roughly 06:30am in exclusive transportation for you and your group/family. The drive is roughly 2hr 30mins so you can sit back, relax, even catch a few more winks if needed.

On arrival you will be served a Full Breakfast to prepare you for the day ahead.

The reserve used for the Big-5 experience covers a 10,000 hectare conservancy in the southern Karoo, and is home to the big 5 legends of the wilderness – elephant, lion, buffalo, leopard and rhino. This unique safari offers you an opportunity to see the Big 5 up close with the addition of other wildlife and flora.

The 2 to 3 hour safari departs at 10:15am and is led by an experienced guide who will share exciting inside stories: facts about your surroundings as well as informative information about all the animals, easily rousing your inner wild side. All safaris are taken in an open top 4 x 4 with options of using a Quad bike or on Horseback.

The Cape Town safari day tour includes a buffet breakfast, lunch, and the option of taking some cooling off dips at one of two breathtaking swimming pools, you are welcome to take advantage off the pools before or after your Big 5 Safari.
