Tour Details Summary

Once past Yzerfontein, we arrive at the West Coast Fossil Park in Langebaan. This fossil farm is held in high esteem due to the fact that the fossils of a variety of faunal remain in extremely well preserved condition. You will be able to see the fossils of exotic animals that inhabited the West Coast approximately 5 million years ago such as sabre-tooth cats, African bears, hunting hyena’s, short-necked giraffes and many others, which are all extinct now.

Our next stop on the tour is !Khwa ttu. The aim of !Khwa ttu is to bring to light the world of one of Africa’s oldest people – The San people. The main emphasis is “a journey into history facilitated by the San people themselves”. In this way people can celebrate the San culture and help create opportunities for the San community. You can also make use of the facilities, one being the old farmhouse which has been turned into a designer restaurant. This is optional and booking is necessary. One of the experienced San guides will take you on a fascinating journey which will give you an insight into the heritage, culture and activities of the modernized San people. This is truly and remarkable experience.
