On route we pass underneath the magnificent Sir Lowry’s Pass, this can be seen on the left hand side while on the right hand side are sheer drops to rocks that fall away into the warm Indian Ocean. As we get closer to Betty’s Bay you will see pristine beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Our first tour stop finds us nestled between the sea and the mountain side, where streams and reflection pools ‘Feed The Soul’. The Harold Porter National Botanical Garden in the heart of the Cape’s richest fynbos region (1600 different plant species), is home to a spectacular variety of sugar bushes (Proteas), heats (Ericas), conebushes (Leucadendrons), and cape reeds (Restios).
This peaceful garden incorporates the four important vegetation types found in the Overberg and the most interesting messages are conveyed to the public about the amazing plant and animal life by means of informative storyboards.
Your Eco Marine Safari tour continues through Hermanus to the quaint coastal town of Gansbaai. From the spectacular cliffs of De Kelders to the miles of white sandy beaches of Pearly Beach, you will find one of the most unique and astonishing land-based whale watching spots in the world.

You take a 2hr boat trip from the harbor of Gansbaai where you will discovering the area where the famous British iron paddle-wheel frigate HMS Birkenhead, weighing 1400 tons was tragically lost off Danger Point, on route you will see many marine animals and plenty of birdlife.
